GUWAHATI: Assam BJP announced on Friday that it is planning to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17 in a big way by organizing a fortnight-long Sewa Poshek, with a multitude of programs.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been organizing a celebration on the occasion of the PM's birthday in the past several years, as a tribute to the leader who has introduced welfare schemes and other measures that has taken India to new heights, said party sources here.
The state unit of the BJP has also chalked out a week-long series of events to be celebrated as Ayushman Bhava campaign as part of the Sewa Poshek (service fortnight) to be held from September 17 to October 2, according to a statement from the party headquarters in the city issued by spokesperson Dr Juri Sharma Bordoloi.
The Assam BJP informed that an exhibition on PM Modi's life and achievements would be held in every district of the state, along with a free medical camp to be organized by the members in every district as well, where free medicines are set to be distributed.
The youth brigade of the BJP will also participate in a blood donation camp in all districts of the state.
Ayushman Bharat cards are also scheduled to be distributed to the needy persons in public functions to be held in different places.
On September 25, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Jayanti will be organized at every BJP booth.
Moreover, from September 26 to October 1, party members will help organize phase 2 of the Booth Swa-Shaktikaran (self-strengthening) campaign, it was informed.
A Swachh Bharat cleanliness campaign is also planned to be held in every market, temple, as well as public places across the state on October 2, the last day of the fortnight-long event.
