Assam BJP to take disciplinary action against rebel members

The Assam State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is gearing up to initiate action against each member and leader of the saffron party who had rebelled during the recently concluded three-phase Assembly polls in the State.

GUWAHATI: The Assam State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is gearing up to initiate action against each member and leader of the saffron party who had rebelled during the recently concluded three-phase Assembly polls in the State.

The saffron party's State president, Ranjeet Kumar Dass told the media, "I have already written letters to all the party candidates for submission of their respective reports in this regard within April 25.

"Based on the reports, disciplinary action will be initiated against those members of the party who carried out anti-party activities during the election period in Assam."

The State president of BJP has also directed all the four general secretaries of the party to conduct district-wise review meetings from April 24 to 30.

The four State general secretaries of the party are MPs (Members of Parliament) Rajdeep Roy, Tapan Kumar Gogoi, and Pallab Lochan Das; besides Phanindra Nath Sarma.
