Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visits party office in Guwahati

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarter (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan) in Guwahati on May 11.

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarter (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan) in Guwahati on May 11.

Notably, this was the first visit by the chief minister after taking oath to the party Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan.

Meanwhile, an internal party meeting was been held among the state BJP President, Assam Pradesh Vice-President and the general secretary of the Assam wing of the BJP. CM Sarma further urged the party members and its workers to support the government in the coming days with suggestion and co-operation.

Talking about the Chief Minister's visit to the party headquarters at Hengrabari, Dass said that he visited to enhance the coordination among the party members.

"The Chief Minister will sit in a meeting with the district Presidents, party workers every month to monitor the works. He also reiterated about conducting meetings with the former members," Dass informed.

Earlier today, BJP, Assam Pradesh Vice-President Jayanta Malla Baruah has been appointed as the Political Secretary of the Legislature party leader and to the Chief Minster Himanta Biswa Sarma, informed state party President and newly elected Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass in a party order.

Speaking to media, Dass said that earlier Bimal Bora served as the Secretary of the legislature party and now Jayanta Malla Baruah has been appointed for the post.
