GUWAHATI: State Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna reviewed the coronavirus situation in Assam at a meeting with top-level officials of the State Health and Family Welfare department here on Thursday.
The Chief Secretary laid stress on bringing awareness among the people of the State without making them panic over the situation. He said that awareness drives should be carried out at places like airports, bus stands etc where people generally gather. He also said to prevent mass gatherings in the State.
Speaking at the review meeting, NHM, Assam Mission Director Lakshmanan S said that as many as 17 coronavirus-related blood samples collected in the State have tested negative.
The Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Samir Kumar Sinha said, “Coronavirus blood sample testing centres have already been set up at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh.”
