GUWAHATI: The Education department has approved admission of the students for the session 2023-24 in 16 colleges. Among these 16 colleges, there are five new colleges, five model degree colleges, and six provincialized colleges.
The five new colleges are; Samuguri Model Degree College, Lahorighat Model Degree College, Dima Hasao Model Degree College, Baghbor Model Degree College, Chenga Women College. The five colleges where the arts stream has newly started are: Model Degree College, Dolgaon; Model Degree College, Behali; Model Degree College, Amjonga; Model Degree College, Tulungia; and Model Degree College, Eraaligul.
The five new colleges where science stream will be starting are Thong Nokke College, West Karbi Anglong; Murkongselek College, Jonai; Gyanpith College, Nikashi; Doomdooma College; Swamy Vivekananda College, Patharkandi; and Tinsukia Commerce College. On the other hand, the mutual transfer of 538 teachers has also been approved. The Education Minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, said in a tweet, "The transfer order of 538 teachers under the mutual category in secondary education has been issued in the hrmsassam.in portal. We are working on other applications."
