GUWAHATI: Finance Minister Ajanta Neog launched the Assam Microfinance Initiative and Relief Scheme, 2021, for class - II beneficiaries today. The Kamrup (M) district administration organized the programme.
Neog said, "Microfinance Initiative and Relief Scheme is one of the largest schemes in the country. Taking a loan is not bad."
She urged the women and society to take the state forward on the path of progress by making it financially independent. "Women should be committed to realizing the Chief Minister's dream of making Assam one of the five most developed states in the country," she said.
Kamrup (M) DC Pallav Gopal Jha delivered the welcome address. He said, "Women should utilize loans properly. They should also delve deep into the aims and objectives of such loans."
This phase of the microfinance loan waiver scheme will benefit 97,938 women who delayed their loan repayment by 1-89 days.
