Assam Governor assures NEIPDA of talks; NEIPDA defers 24-hour long strike until a week

GUWAHATI: The North East India Petroleum Dealers’ Association’s (NEIPDA) Greater Guwahati Unit (GGU) has deferred its 24-hour strike for a week.

The deferment of the strike is following an assurance to the Association by the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) through a letter that he would take up their grievances with the oil marketing companies on November 25, 2019. In a release issued to the press on November 24, 2019, NEIPDA GGU’s joint secretary Arup Goswami said that the Association has deferred its strike for a week following a request from the deputy commissioner.
