Assam Governor congratulates Sur Deul Music College on its 40th Foundation Day

 GUWAHATI: "Amidst the rich tapestry of Indian history, culture, customs, music, and literature, there exists a bond of unity that Sur Deul Music College is using to strengthen the fabric of our society" said Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria while speaking at the 40th foundation day of the College at Jagiroad College in Jagiroad on Sunday.

The Governor lauded the founders of the college and said that their dedication and tireless efforts are paying rich dividends to strengthen the foundation of the state. He said that it is through its noble and selfless endeavours that the institute now soars to great heights in the arenas of music and art. He said that since ancient times, the art of music has been providing the elixir of life to human existence in India and around the world. In modern times, the promotion, development, and popularity of music have increased significantly. The flowing stream of music, traversing through the mythological era, the mediaeval period, and the modern age, has now become the carrier of profound joy and delight in human life.

He also said that music is one of the most beautiful creations of mankind. It holds divine power within itself. Music has the ability to connect people, cutting across all boundaries. Music also helps in discovering the hidden strengths of humans. In this way, it serves as a powerful tool for building a better society. Moreover, the Governor highlighted that in contemporary times, music has evolved into a burgeoning industry, presenting itself as a viable source of livelihood for numerous individuals. From the perspective of a career, the field of music is filled with limitless possibilities. With the increasing number of channels in the country, ample opportunities have been created in the field of music for the youth. He urged Sur Deul Music College to take the lead in using music to unravel the hidden potential of people for a better world.

Later, the Governor visited the campus of Sur Deul Music College and witnessed a beautiful exhibition of art and artistic expression. CEM Tiwa Autonomous Council, Jiban Chandra Konwar, District Commissioner, Morigaon, Devasish Sharma, Principal Jagiroad College, Dr. Bhaben Chandra Neog, Principal Sur Deul Music College, Paban Gogoi, SP Morigaon, Hemanta Kumar Das, and teachers and students of Jagiroad and Sur Deul Music Colleges were present in the meeting., stated a press release.
