Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria visits Blueberry Industry at Chandrapur

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of Viswakarma Puja, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria visited the blueberry industry at Chandrapur and offered his puja to the God of Engineers. He also visited the industry premises and had a look at the facilities put in place for the industry, which is engaged in dairy farming. The governor hailed the efforts of the proprietor of the industry for his role in the development of dairy farming in the area. He said that there is immense scope for the development of the dairy sector in the state, which can create employment avenues while strengthening the local economy. The Governor, moreover, said that the dairy industry has the potential to strengthen the foundation of Atmanirbhar Assam and is playing its role in the state's self-reliance. Therefore, more and more entrepreneurs and SHGs should be encouraged to take up dairy farming. The governor also planted a sapling on the premises of the industry.

Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Manish Thakur; Secretary Industries, Commerce, and PE Department, Dr. S. Lakshmanan; and a few other senior officers and dignitaries were present on the occasion, stated a press release.
