GUWAHATI: Assam Governor and Chancellor of Cotton University, Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Wednesday administered the oath of office to Prof Ramesh Chandra Deka as Vice Chancellor of Cotton University at a function held in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan.
Earlier, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor SS Meenakshi Sundaram sought the permission of the Governor to start the proceedings of the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended among others by the Education Minister of the State, Ranoj Pegu, State Government's Advisor, Education, Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, Advisor Chancellor's Secretariat Prof MK Choudhury, Vice Chancellors of different universities, and senior officers of the State Government, stated an official communiqué.
