Assam Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi greeted the people of the State belonging to Mohammedan Community on the occasion of Ramadan the holy month which is began on Tuesday.

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi greeted the people of the State belonging to Mohammedan Community on the occasion of Ramadan the holy month which is began on Tuesday.

In a message here, Professor Mukhi said, "My warm greetings to the Muslim brethren on this holy occasion. Ramadan is a month for the Muslim community to observe dawn to dusk fast to cleanse the soul and come closer to God. It is a time which everybody should use to think and act for the welfare of humanity."

He added, "May this holy month of Ramadan bind us all together and bring us on the common platform to spread the message of peace, harmony and brotherhood all across the nation."

He also urged upon everybody to observe the month following the COVID appropriate behavior to enable this occasion to augur health and happiness, stated a release.
