GUWAHATI: A seven-member team of the Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC), led by its member Santanu Bharali, visited the house of the late Sub-Inspector of Police, Junmoni Rabha, who died in a road accident in the Nagaon district. The member expressed condolences to the bereaved family and talked to the mother of Late Junmoni Rabha. Her mother expressed sorrow and suspicion of foul play in the death of her daughter. She said that police personnel visited her house after the incident and conducted a house search.

Bharali expressed her belief that the Government of Assam, through the Police Department, will carry out a proper investigation into the matter and that justice will be done to her daughter, and he assured her that the Commission will also be taking stock of the investigations. Though the Commission has not yet registered any case in this regard, the SP, Investigation of the Commission, Anil Kr Sharma, is being entrusted to visit the place of occurrence and to meet officials and other persons to gather information regarding the whole incident.
