GUWAHATI: The State Government's Assam Live Stock & Poultry Corporation Limited (ALPCo) has imparted training to 21,000 youths on animal husbandry in the last five years, of whom 8,000 youths have become established in the field.
This was disclosed by ALPCo's chairman Manoj Saikia while addressing a three-day training camp on animal husbandry here on Monday. Saikia urged the youths of the State to attend such training camps because these provide ample assistance in become self-employed as a result of the high demand for meat and eggs in the region.
Around 300 youths will be imparted training during the camp. The training will comprise tips on rearing poultry, pigs, goats etc.
