Assam-Mizoram row: BJP teams to visit victims' kin

GUWAHATI: Days after fierce border clashes along the Assam-Mizoram boundary left six Assam Police personnel dead and masses injured, State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president Bhabesh Kalita has asked the partymen to visit the families of the victims.

In this regard, he has constituted eight teams to visit the homes of martyr families and the persons who were injured in the attack by the Mizoram Police.

The eight teams will visit Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Darrang, Sonitpur, Morigaon, Karbi Anglong, and Sivasagar.

The teams include — Ministers, MPs, MLAs, State vice presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, morcha presidents, spokespersons, and district presidents.

He directed the teams to complete their respective visits within August 1.
