Assam observes Constitution Day at Janata Bhawan

GUWAHATI: Along with the rest of the Nation, the Constitution Day was also observed at Assam, today at Janata Bhawan, Dispur.

The Chief Secretary, JishnuBaruah administered the oath on the occasion to all officers and employees of JanataBhawan at a solemn function organised to mark the day.

Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950, a press release said.

GU NSS cell celebrates Day

Gauhati University NSS Cell celebrated Constitution Day through a webinar on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. Welcoming the guests DrRanjan Kr Kakati, Director, Students' Welfare &Programme Coordinator, NSS, Gauhati University appealed to all the participants to reach out to all citizens of India to spread the importance of the Constitution and also to make awareness about Fundamental duties of every people of our country.

Prof. Dilip Bora, Secretary University Classes, GU inaugurated the webinar and said the Constitution of India is one of the best Constitutions in the world which focuses the liberty of every citizen.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Jayanta Krishna Sarmah, Department of Political Science, Gauhati University focused on the fundamental principles of the Constitution. Dr. Sarmah said, the constitution itself directs the ways at the time of crisis in different times. He focused on decentralization process of the country specifically referring Panchayati Raj and Sixth Schedule provisions of the Constitution. The programme ended with the reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution by all the participants led by Dr. R.K. Kakati. A large no of NSS volunteers, Programme Officers from different affiliated colleges, GU PG classes NSS volunteers participated in the Constitution Day programme, a press release said.

IIE observes Constitution Day

Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) observed the 71st Constitution Day or SamvidhanDiwas with support and cooperation of faculty, staff of the Institute, on Thursday. Preamble to the Constitution of India and Fundamental Duties as enshrined in Article 51A of the Constitution was read out by Director Dr. Abhijit Sharma in the presence of faculty, staff and trainees of the Institute as a pledge.

On this special day the Director IIE Dr. Abhijit Sharma, while paying rich tribute to Dr. BhimraoAmbedkar, the creator of the Constitution, said that "our constitution lays down the fundamental political principles, right, duties and power of the government, besides fundamental rights, directive principles and duties of citizens," a press release said.

NFR celebrates Day

The 71st anniversary of the adoption of Constitution of India was observed in a befitting manner all over N.F. Railway. The focus of the celebration was on "Fundamental Duties", as enshrined in the Constitution of India. As part of the programme, banners and posters were displayed at prominent locations to create awareness about the "Fundamental Duties" of every citizen of the country.

As part of the programme, pledge on "Fundamental Duties" was administered by the General Manager, N.F. Railway Sanjive Roy to officers & staff of HQ at Maligaon. Similar programme was also held in all the Divisional HQ, workshops, and training institutes etc of NFR. Webinars on Fundamental Duties and Constitution were also organised in HQ and Divisions, an NF Railway release said.
