GUWAHATI: The number of people from other States who are stranded in Assam is decreasing because various industries have been opened due to the lockdown relaxation, said a source from the Assam Police. According to sources, over 14,000 people are stranded in Assam due to the lockdown and most of these people belong from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Bihar. Following the directives of the Assam Government, these people had registered their details at their respective police stations; however, a section of them are not willing to go back to their hometowns as their work has been resumed after the industries were opened, the source asserted. The source underlined that these people are now being assessed. ]
