Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) Gears up to Recover Power Bills

The APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Limited) has geared up to recover electricity bills from consumers.

GUWAHATI: The APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Limited) has geared up to recover electricity bills from consumers.

In July, the APDCL disconnected the power supply of 4,929 consumers who failed to pay the bills. An APDCL official stated that the consumers whose power supplies were disconnected had dues of Rs 4,56,63,506. However, the department reconnected the power supply of 4,258 consumers after they cleared their bills. A total of Rs 3,28,09,571 was collected from the consumers and this process will continue until the consumers clear their bills, the official added.

It is to be stated that the power supplies were disconnected from in 19 APDCL circles. The number of disconnections in the circles is – Guwahati EC-1 (192), Guwahati EC-II (244), Rangia EC (337), Mangaldoi EC (238), Barpeta EC (490), Bongaigaon EC (240), Kokrajhar EC (130), Tezpur EC (216), Lakhimpur EC (301), Nagaon EC (588), Morigaon EC (152), Kanch EC (88), Cachar EC (340), Badarpur EC (286), Golaghat EC (245), Jorhat EC (233), Jorhat EC (233), Sivasagar EC (239), Dibrugarh EC (172), Tinsukia EC (190).
