Assam Public Service Commission conducts CCE Prelims successfully

The Assam Public Service Commission has successfully completed the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 in 132 venues across 31 centres of Assam.

 GUWAHATI: The Assam Public Service Commission has successfully completed the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 in 132 venues across 31 centres of Assam. The entire process of examination was carried out peacefully and in complete adherence to law and order, with active participation of personnel from respective district administrations, throughout the state of Assam, a press release stated.

The Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination consists of two OMR (objective type) question papers, namely GS Paper-I and GS Paper-II (Qualifing paper) for a total of 400 marks. While conducting the examination utmost regard has been held towards maintaining the fairness and integrity of entire process. It is for the first time in history of Assam Public Service Commission that such a large scale recruitment process for 913 posts across 27 services of State of Assam has been advertised under the umbrella of Combined Competitive Examination, 2022. The Advt. No. 2612022 dated 22.12.2022 was issued by the APSC for filling up 913 posts across 27 services, out of which 15 services have been newly incorporated in the Combined Competitive Examination, 2022 viz. Assam Urban Administrative Service (103posts), Assam Financial Service (20posts), Assistant Audit Officer (77posts), Administrative Officer (Minorities Development Board) (01 post), Assistant Accounts Officer (41sposts) among other services. The last date of submission of application form was 10.02.2023. A total of 74368 applications have been received against 913 advertised posts out of which 42320 are male candidates, 32045 are female candidates and 3 are transgender candidates. It may be mentioned that for the first time against the posts reserved for Ex-serviceman a total of 121 candidates have applied. Furthermore, 20162 candidates having post graduation degree and 258 candidates having Ph.D. degree have applied for the aforesaid posts. A total of 31 Nodal Officers, 132 Supervisors, 3BB Assistant Supervisors, 3861 invigilators, 570 clerks,777 peons, 132 Sub-inspectors, 792 police personnel and 264 nurses were involved in the peaceful conduct of the aforesaid examination. In the history of APSC, the highest numbers of candidates appeared in the said examination this time.
