GUWAHATI: The Assam State Commission for Women (ASCW) has ordered the Assam Police to conduct an inquiry on Sikha Sarma regarding her post about late Jonali Nath on social media. In her letter to the police chief of the state, the chairperson of the commission has also ordered the submission of the action taken report regarding this issue within three days and added that “the statement seems to be a character assassination of a deceased person and is derogatory, humiliating, and degrading not only for women but also for a civilised society.”
