Assam Student writes letter to PM Narendra Modi

GUWAHATI: Rajveer Singha, a class X student, has written a letter to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, urging him to take effective steps to control the rising drug abuse in the country. In his letter, he highlighted the alarming increase of drug abuse among youth in the country, especially in the northeast region, which is known to be one of the major drug routes in India. He stated that the use of drugs is not only causing a negative impact on the health of individuals but is also leading to the degradation of society and the nation as a whole.

Rajveer Singha is a karate and kickboxing athlete from Guwahati, Assam. He has a keen interest in social problems and is passionate about creating positive change in society. He runs an awareness drive in the city under the name and style “Say Yes to Sports, No to Drugs “.The young student expressed his concerns over the accessibility of drugs to youth and how it has become a trend among them. He also mentioned the lack of awareness and knowledge about the harmful effects of drugs, which is leading the youth to experiment with drugs.

He has urged the Prime Minister to take urgent steps to control the supply and use of drugs in the country. He suggested that the government should launch awareness campaigns in schools and colleges to educate the youth about the consequences of drug abuse. He also recommended that the government implement strict laws and regulations to curb drug trafficking and ensure that the perpetrators receive severe punishment for their actions.

The young student believes that a more coordinated approach is required from both the central and state governments to effectively tackle this growing menace. He is hopeful that the Prime Minister’s office will take note of his letter and take the necessary action to address this pressing issue, stated a press release.
