Assam Teachers body threaten noncooperation during Budget session

GUWAHATI: The Asom Rajyik Prathamik Shikshak Sanmilani (ARPSS) has threatened total non-cooperation during the three days of the Budget session of the State Assembly – February 11, 12 and 13, 2020.

In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, ARPSS secretary-general Ratul Chandra Goswami said, "Our partial non-cooperation is underway in support of our demands for the creation of headmasters' posts and paying back the deducted salaries of graduate teachers. If the government doesn't issue the order by February 10 to this effect, we'll resort to total non-cooperation from February 11 for three days. During the three days we'll refrain from taking classes also. "If the government doesn't meet our demands even after that, we're going to gherao all district education offices in the State on February 20, 2021."
