GUWAHATI: The Assam Trinamool Congress has raised questions regarding the handing over of the management of the Dighalipukhuri of Guwahati to an Ahmedabad-based company by the Assam Tourism Development Corporation.

In a statement, the president of the Kamrup Metropolitan unit of the organization Tapan Kalita mentioned that the party that talks about the rights of the local people of Assam is now working on the wimps of the capitalists of Gujarat and is now gradually handing over the resources of the state one by one to them. He also said that the government handed over the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to the Adani Group, that animals from the Assam State Zoo are secretly being sold to Ambani, and that the government wants to hand over the heritage of the state to them. Alleging that the party has no respect for the culture of the state or its people, Tapan Kalita demanded that the deal be cancelled immediately as the bidding process was done without public information so that local parties could not take part in the same. He also added that if the same is not done, then the party will be forced to take up protests in the coming time.
