GUWAHATI: Assam's Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Wednesday visited the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) campus here and inspected the dysfunctional buses and their condition.
An official communiqué informed that these buses would be soon allotted to interested parties on lease for making them operate on road again.
Suklabaidya also inspected the boom barrier facility which was recently installed at the entry gate of ISBT. The Transport Minister also inspected the baggage centre, washing centre the functioning of the office situated therein.
During his visit, the Transport Minister also inspected the condition of the toilets, food stalls etc., and directed the Divisional Superintendent to ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness in the stalls across the campus.
Suklabaidya was accompanied by Pranab Jyoti Lahkar, vice chairman of Assam State Transport Corporation ASTC and senior officials.
