ASTC Pink Bus Service Begins in Guwahati

The pink bus service for women and senior citizens of ASTC has begun in Guwahati on Saturday (January 9). Passengers are happy with the new bus service

Guwahati: The pink bus service for women and senior citizens of the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) in Guwahati has begun from Saturday (January 9).

Ashok Bhattaraya, chairman of ASTC on Tuesday inspected the movement of the pink bus to check whether women passengers are facing any problems.

Women and senior citizens are happy with the new free bus service of ASTC and they urged not to stop the service after a few days.

The 'Pink Bus' service has been launched under the 'Bhraman Sarathi' scheme.

Currently total of 25 pink buses have been running in the city and it is expected to increase the number of buses in the city along with the other districts of the state in the future.

The Assam State Transport Corporation kept the buses pink in color so that women and senior citizen can easily identify the special free city buses easily.
