An awareness programme was carried out on hand hygiene within the mandir premises, mainly among the shopkeepers.
Swapnalee Bhattarcharya, Dy Director General, explained that the shopkeepers within the premises may be exposed to any germs passed on through their hands or customers, and as such, it is very important that they resort to complete and properly displayed hand washing techniques. Sanitizers and soaps were distributed to the bystanders. A meeting with the mandir committee was also held and a pair of wet dry dustbins was handed over to the secretary of the committee.
