GUWAHATI: As a mark of respect to the martyrs, Shilaphalakams were unveiled in the Guwahati Metropolitan District along with the rest of the country. This initiative has been taken as a part of the Meri Mati Mera Desh project as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
These will be set up at Pan Bazar Higher Secondary and at the various panchayats of the district. Several dignitaries, including GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania, District Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, and GMC Commissioner Megh Nidhi Dahal, attended the unveiling at the premises of the Panbazar High School. They also recited the ‘Pancha Sankalpa’ during the event.
Martyr Binodan Fangs’ name was engraved in the Shilaphalakam set at the Chamata Pahar High School complex. Apart from GMC, preparations have been made to set up Shilaphalakams in 21 panchayats of the district. Apart from unveiling these on August 15, the Basudha Bandan’ programme will be undertaken by planting 75 saplings. Also, the officials have requested that all citizens take part in the Ghar Ghar Tiranga Campaign.
