B Borooah College bags National Service Scheme award

GUWAHATI: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the B Borooah College was presented the NSS award 2020-21 in the Programme Officers of NSS Unit category by President Droupadi Murmu at the Darbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday.

The award was received by the principal of B Borooah College, Dr Satyendra Nath Barman and the College Programme Officer, Dr Satyabrat Baruah.

Expressing his thoughts on this achievement, Dr Barman said that this award has bought laurels to B Borooah College as well as to Assam as a whole.

"Out of the 10 colleges in India, we are very proud to say that our college is the only one from Assam to get this award. All the members of B Borooah College are really happy," he added.

Meanwhile, Nayana Saikia of Digboi College and Shuhankar Dey of Rangapara College were also awarded under the 'volunteer' category of NSS.
