Batadrova eviction: Congress constitutes fact-finding delegation

The Leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly and leader of the (ACLP), Debabrata Saikia has constituted a fact-finding delegation under the leadership of ACLP deputy leader Rakibul Hussain.

GUWAHATI: The Leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly and leader of the Assam Congress Legislature Party (ACLP), Debabrata Saikia has constituted a fact-finding delegation under the leadership of ACLP deputy leader Rakibul Hussain.

This delegation left for Batadrava today to visit the recently evicted areas at Batadrova LAC under the Nagaon district. The delegation will meet the officials of the district administration to find out the status of the relief and rehabilitation provided to the evicted families and distribute relief materials to the needy people.

The delegation comprises of Rakibul Hussain, Wazed Ali Choudhury, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Basanta Das, Misbahul Islam Laskar, Abdur Rasheed Mandal, Jakir Hussain Sikdar, Abul Kalam Rashid Alam, Nurul Huda, Bhaskar Jyoti Baruah, Sibamoni Bora, Pradip Sarkar and Dr Asif Md. Nazar.

The Nagaon district administration, in association with the police, had carried out a massive eviction drive on Monday against illegal encroachment of government land at the greater Batadrova mouza under Dhing revenue circle in the Nagaon district.
