GUWAHATI: The Gauhati University Teachers’ Association (GUTA) on Monday expressed serious concern over the alleged attempts of the ruling party and vested interest groups to divide and derail the ongoing movement against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in the State.
An executive committee meeting of the GUTA held on Gauhati University premises here on Monday also warned the vested interest groups to desist from making attempts to derail the anti-CAA movement.
A press statement issued by GUTA general secretary Dr Tilak Hazarika he expressed surprise over the State Government’s move to take out peace rallies against the peaceful and democratic movement against the CAA.
Demanding the Centre to scrap the CAA the GUTA has also extended full support to the peaceful and democratic movement against the contentious legislation.
