GUWAHATI: The State BJP has cancelled all of its programmes for two days – Thursday and Friday – as a mark of tribute to the soldiers fallen in Ladakh's Galwan valley in border skirmishes with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

BJP's national president JP Nadda was scheduled to address a virtual rally in Guwahati at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on Thursday, but the rally had to be cancelled, said BJP's State president Ranjeet Dass while talking to the media.

Such a decision was taken when party president JP Nadda said that the party decided to cancel all its political programmes and virtual rallies for two days as a mark of tribute to the fallen India soldiers.

Dass said, "While the public relations drive of the party in the State will resume from June 20, the date of the virtual rally that was stalled today will be announced later."
