GUWAHATI: The State BJP condemned statements from the Congress on the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and termed that a matter of shame.

In a statement issued to the media, state BJP spokesperson Subhash Dutta said, "Since its inception in 1980, the BJP has been celebrating every Independence Day and Republic Day at the party level. When the Independence of India attained 50 years, the people of the country voted the BJP to power at the Centre. Incidentally, when the Independence of the country attained 75 years, the BJP is at the helm of affairs at the Centre. At the time of Chinese aggression, the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru said 'My heart goes to the people of Assam'. However, the BJP never compromised with the integrity and sovereignty of the country, and it will not do it ever - be that Kargil Vijay or surgical strike."
