BJP, Congress release lists of candidates for Tiwa Autonomous Council Poll

The State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Monday released the first list of candidates for Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) election.

GUWAHATI: The State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Monday released the first list of candidates for Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) election.

The polls will be contested in 36 constituencies and the BJP has announced names of 33 candidates.

Meanwhile, the Congress announced names of 31 candidates for the TAC polls.

In this regard, the APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) held a meeting of the Tiwa Autonomous Council Election Committee at Rajiv Bhawan here on Sunday. The meeting was presided by APCC president Ripun Bora and it decided to contest in all 36 constituencies of the TAC. Meanwhile, names of five candidates are pending.
