GUWAHATI: State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president Ranjit Kumar Das on Friday stated that the Saffron party is determined for the development of the BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Areas Districts). Dass made the statement while addressing a joining programme where former BPF (Bodoland People's Front) MCL Gaura Narzary joined the Saffron party officially.
The State BJP president underlined that the party's ally BPF performed exceptionally in the polls.
"In the 12 constituencies of the BTAD, the Mitrajoot consisting BJP and UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) secured 8,62,181 votes. On the other hand, the Congress and its alliance parties got 6,51,073 votes," said Dass.
Further, Dass said that the party has started to review its Assembly election performance at every booth in each of the constituencies.
"The BJP has taken various initiatives to build its organizational strength. In this view, the party has appointed observers in 14 Lok Sabha Constituencies (LACs) who will review the party's performance at booth level," said Das.
