Boats and ferry services suspended in Kamrup (Metro)

In view of the safety and the security of the public, the plying of all kinds of boats, ferry service in Kamrup (Metro) has been suspended in view of the rising water level of the Brahmaputra river.

GUWAHATI: In view of the safety and the security of the public, the plying of all kinds of boats, ferry service in Kamrup (Metro) has been suspended in view of the rising water level of the Brahmaputra river. The water level of Brahmaputra river in Kamrup (Metro) is rising for the last few days and it has become very risky for the vessels to navigate, stated Director of Inland Water Transport, Assam. According to the order, plying of the ferry service between Guwahati-North Guwahati and Guwahati-Kurua in such situation may cause untoward incidents which may lead to threat to the lives of public and properties.
