GUWAHATI: The Boro-Kachari National Council, Assam, (BNCA) has extended its support to the Congress-BPF 'Mahajoot' and will continue to do so. Stating this in a joint statement, BNCA vice president Prashanta Baglary and its general secretary Swapan Boro said, "We appeal to all the Boro people to support the 'Mahajoot of which the BPF (Bodoland People's Front) is an alliance partner."

Refuting the claim of the 'Boro-Kachari Kalyan Sahitya Parishad' that the Boro people living outside the BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region) under the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) are supporting the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), the BNCA leaders said, "It is not true. Under no circumstances will the Boro people do so. The Boro-Kachari people living outside the BTR are supporting Hagrama Mohillary and the 'Mahajoot'.

"During the first and second phases of Assembly polls, the Boro-Kachari people outside the BTR cast their votes in favour of 'Mahajoot' because of the anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) stance of the alliance partners. They will do so even in the third and final phase of Assembly polls slated on April 6. The BNCA took its meeting at the Tribal Rest House in Guwahati.
