GUWAHATI: At the time of the national crisis in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Border Security Force Frontier HQ Guwahati is not only engaged in manning the Indo-Bangladesh Border but also extending all the possible help towards social welfare by donating plasma to COVID-19 infected patients after.

BSF Jawans of 41 and 67 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier on Tuesday who recovered from COVID-19 infection voluntarily donated their convalescent plasma after assessing their antibodies status to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Many other personnel of BSF Frontier Guwahati, who have recovered from the COVID-19 virus infection, are also ready to donate their plasma to combat COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Jawans were felicitated by the Principal of GMCH, Assam. During the welcome address, the Principal of GMCH, Assam said he is proud of BSF and the Jawans who due the nature of their duties while guarding the borders and while performing law and order duty in the city had contracted COVID-19 infection and now after recovery they are back to serve the nation for a very noble cause i.e plasma donation which can be utilized for the critically ill patients suffering from COVID -19.

All Jawans were also praised by State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in his personal letter, stated a release.
