GUWAHATI: One of the shooters who killed businessman Avdesh Kumar Yadav in the city last month, was arrested by a team of Assam Police from Begusarai district in Bihar on Monday.

Revealing details about this police operation, Guwahati Police Commissioner Harmeet Singh, while talking to media persons in the city on Tuesday, said that Pankaj Kumar Yadav and Balu Paswan had come to Guwahati to kill Avdesh Kumar Yadav on the direction of W Yadav. While Assam Police could successfully nab Pankaj Kumar Yadav, the other two are absconding. They might have crossed the border and fled to Nepal. "We are tracking them. If needed, we will take help from Nepal police," said the Guwahati Police Commissioner.

He further said that years old enmity between the families of Avdesh Kumar Yadav and W Yadav was the reason behind the murder. There are almost 30 cases registered against the two families. "This is an enmity that has been going on for years and because of this enmity both families keep killing each other," said Singh.

Avdesh Kumar Yadav owned four garment shops in Fancy Bazar, a hardware shop in the city, a garment shop in Imphal and eight trucks. Besides, he was also a partner in a noodles factory. Yadav had three brothers. Two of them who lived in Bihar had also been killed years ago. They were Ram Prabesh Yadav and Naresh Yadav.
