Bye-election 2022: Majuli bye-poll today

Voting for the bye-election to the Majuli Legislative Assembly constituency will commence from 7 am on Monday to decide the fate of three candidates.

GUWAHATI: Voting for the bye-election to the Majuli Legislative Assembly constituency will commence from 7 am on Monday to decide the fate of three candidates.

The candidates include Bhuban Gam of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chittaranjan Basumatary of the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) and Bhaity Richong of the Socialist Unity Centre of India-Communist (SUCI-C).

There are 1,33,227 voters in the constituency, including 67,819 men and 65,408 women. There will be 203 polling stations.

According to sources in the Election Department, Assam, all polling personnel arrived at their respective polling stations today. All 203 polling stations will have webcasting facility. Voting will continue up to 5 pm.
