GUWAHATI: A team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from the Jorabat Outpost under the Basistha Police Station on Sunday intercepted and detained a mini truck that was carrying five live cattle.
According to police sources, two persons have been held for further questioning. All necessary formalities are being done, they added.
Meanwhile, a team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the West Guwahati District Police (WGPD) and the Garchuck police arrested one Babidul alias Bobby on Sunday and recovered 28.20 gm of heroin in 38 vials from his possession.
Police sources said that Babidul is a resident of Katabatic, Nizorapar here.
Legal action has been initiated in this regard, they said.
