GUWAHATI: Centre for Environment Education in partnership with the Guwahati Municipal Corporation and support from the Human Matrix organized a Swachhta Rally in Guwahati. This drive was carried out in two wards of Guwahati city completely litter free.
The cleanliness drive was carried out in ward 5 and 6 of the city. The Councillors of Ward Number 5 and Ward Number 6 also attended this occassion along with more than 120 women carrying various messages about awareness. Some of the messages included no littering, and using alternatives to single use plastic.
Following the initiative, a handprint pledge was also taken wherein the members of the community pledged to segregate waste at source and not to litter.
