Chakma National Council of India observe 'Black Day' in Guwahati

In co-ordination with the CNCI (Chakma National Council of India), the Guwahati Convention also observed ‘Black Day’, on Tuesday.

GUWAHATI: In co-ordination with the CNCI (Chakma National Council of India), the Guwahati Convention also observed 'Black Day', on Tuesday. The Chakmas mark this day as the "darkest day in the history of the community". The CNCI took this decision to observe August 17 as a 'Black Day' in its Guwahati Convention-2016. On this day in 1947, the CNCI protests the act of CHT (Chittagong Hill Tracts) being "unjustly awarded to Pakistan", stated a press release.
