GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hit back at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from Paneri, where he went for the Cabinet meeting today.

The Chief Minister said, "Kejriwal spoke against me in the Delhi Assembly recently and said that I had some cases against me. I did challenge them at that time to say outside the Assembly that I have cases against me. He came to Guwahati but dared not say that I have criminal cases against me. A man should talk like a man. He takes the privilege of the Assembly to level such allegations."

The Chief Minister said, "Kejriwal claimed to have provided jobs to 12 lakh people. I talked to the officers of the Delhi government. They said that the state has a total of 1.5 lakh government jobs. Where has he given appointments to 12 lakh people? I will write a letter to Arvind Kejriwal to request the breakup of the 12-lakh appointment. We are giving appointments to one lakh people. We will provide him with details of the appointment."

On the leak of HSLC question papers, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Kejriwal raised the issue of question paper leak today. He should remember that the higher secondary exam had to be cancelled in Punjab (where AAP is in power) due to the leak of question papers. He invited me to Delhi. We will go to Delhi with around 50 people, including journalists. However, he will have to allow us to visit the areas we want. As I know that around 70 percent people of Delhi live in slum areas. In Assam, 90 percent people live in good condition."

Kejriwal's remarks on Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife, the Chief Minister: "How can I say what my wife does? If she does good work, she will be honoured. If she does anything bad, she will be blamed. Why should he drag wives into this debate? I don't know the name of his wife. If my wife teaches English to some students, that is well and good."

When asked about the Khalistani threat, he said that the police would look into the matter.
