GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday that the Gandhi family is the most corrupt family in the country. Rahul Gandhi called the BJP government led by him in Assam ‘the most corrupt government’ in the nation.

The Chief Minister reacted to the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which entered Assam on Thursday, saying that it is not a Nyay Yatra but a ‘Miya Yatra’.

“If the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra passes through the main streets of Guwahati, then we will register a case,” said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Talking to the media regarding the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, the Chief Minister said, “Any kind of procession or rally is prohibited through the middle of the city. There have been provocations by some people to take the rally through the middle of the city, which we will not restrict, but we will register a case, and after the Lok Sabha elections, we will make sure of the arrest. On the other hand, if the Nyay Yatra will take an alternate route, then there will be no such problem.”

The Chief Minister also stated that the rally witnessed a huge gathering of the Miya communities in the Miya-dominated areas. He also said that the Gandhi family is one of the most corrupt families in the country and is involved in various scams.
