GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that students would get the wisdom of life only when they follow the teachings of their gurus and this is the underlying objective behind launching Gyanjyoti scheme.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of Gyanjyoti programme at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra here on Thursday, Sonowal said that through knowledge only, lights can be spread to the society. Therefore, students should devote themselves in the pursuit of knowledge, work hard in life and bring laurels to the society, state and the nation. Stating that students are the future of the nation, Sonowal said that through hard work at least 10 hours of study a day, students can bring success to their life. He also said that success of the students will amount to success to society. He also appealed to the students to take care of their health and follow strict discipline, devotion, punctuality to make them fit. He also urged upon the students to keep themselves away from narcotic substances. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 130 crore people of the state, started the ‘Fit India Movement’ to motivate the youths and other sections of the society to resort to good food, good thought etc. He also asked the students to be the wise user of internet and use it for the education purpose to expand their knowledge bank. He also said that the messages that can make the society should be spread and deter from spreading such messages that can mark the society. Sonowal also asked the students to use science and technology to make their life. Sonowal asked the students to inculcate the habits of water conservation. He also said that the Barak-Brahmaputra along with their tributaries have presented a hotbed of bio-diversity and asked the students to take responsibility to preserve their bio-diversity. He also said that since plants play important role in the eco-system of the society, Sonowal asked the students to lend their hands to increase the green coverage of the planet earth, a press release said.
