GUWAHATI: In a move to acknowledge the generosity and responsibility shown by people in donating plasma, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal felicitated the plasma donors at a function held at Assam Administrative Staff College here on Saturday.

The programme organized by the Lions Club of Gauhati Greater was held in appreciation of the convalescent plasma donors who donated plasma during COVID 19 pandemic. As many as 100 plasma donors were felicitated at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that their actions not only helped in savings precious lives but also radiating a new ray of hope in the society. He said that the donations rendered by the plasma donors will have indelible impact in the society.

Sonowal said that at a time when the entire society is going through an unprecedented situation because of coronavirus infection, the plasma donors gave a way for fighting against the virus. He also expressed his gratitude to the donors for leading a fight back against the virus which is essentially shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sonowal also thanked the Lions Club and the plasma donors and requested them to continue their humanitarian works as the State government would always help them in their endeavour, a press release said.
