GUWAHATI: The State government has revised the lockdown guidelines and allowed grocery shops to remain open in the city on Saturday.
According to a notification issued by the Chief Secretary, wholesalers of essential items like rice, atta, pulses, onions, potatoes, salt and edible oil may be allowed to replenish their stocks between 10 am to 6 pm. They are allowed to distribute essential commodities to retailers on Saturday between the aforementioned times.
The notification read that fruits and vegetables are allowed to be retailed following social distancing in residential areas. The grocery shops selling personal hygiene items are allowed to open between 9 am to 5 pm.
The order stated that no roadside vending of any fruit, vegetable, fish etc will be allowed.
