The COVID pandemic has led to a dearth of donors in the blood banks of Assam. In order to replenish the blood stock a voluntary blood donation is of utmost necessity. Keeping this in mind NHM Assam has planned a series of blood donation camps in Assam. Most medical emergencies like trauma, pregnancy complications, various elective procedures, cancer patients etc, require blood transfusion as a part of treatment. So an adequate stock of blood is necessary for the blood banks, stated a release.
