GUWAHATI: The All India Road Transport Workers' Federation (AIRTWF) has seek the administration's approval to run the city bus and share taxi services with limited passengers with the government's subsidy or financial assistance for the workers so that they can uplift their condition which has occurred due to the lockdown. They claimed that the lives of motor transport workers have become worse due to nationwide lockdown,

In a letter sent to the transport minister, the AIRTWF said that the motor transport workers have been following all the lockdown norms since it was announced. However, those engaged in the profession are worst affected. The AIRTWF further expressed disappointment that the administration has allowed cab services in the city but has barred operation of city bus and share taxi services.
