CM Himanta Biswa Sarma attends meet at AGP office in Guwahati

On the eve of completion of the first year of the Himanta Biswa Sarma Ministry in the State

GUWAHATI: On the eve of completion of the first year of the Himanta Biswa Sarma Ministry in the State, the Chief Minister visited the headquarters of alliance partner Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) at Ambari and attended a meeting there.

He was greeted at Ambari by AGP president Atul Bora and working president Keshab Mahanta, both of whom are serving as Cabinet Ministers.

Sarma said at the meeting that the BJP-led Government is striving to do as much work as possible for the welfare of the people. The people have also reposed faith in the Government and hence it is imperative for the alliance partners to work united for the benefit of the public, he said.

Sarma said that if a Government which is loved by the people does not work for the public welfare, then the common people become disillusioned. Therefore, the emphasis must be on taking the Government closer to the people, the Chief Minister said.

The Government has the aim of making Assam one of the five best States of the country, he reiterated.

AGP candidates who won in their respective wards in the recent GMC and other civic elections were also felicitated on the occasion in the presence of the Chief Minister.

AGP chief Atul Bora said that under the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Government is working with a vision for the development of the State.
