GUWAHATI: Following the orders from the Chief Minister, police officer Sahir Ali - who registered the FIR against Rajkanya Baruah – has been 'reserve closed'.

Meanwhile, WSI Abaha Rani Gogoi has also been 'reserve closed' for the same incident. It has been alleged that Rajkanya Baruah was intentionally booked under bailable offences. Baruah had also violated curfew norms and was allegedly drunk while driving.

Twenty-nine-year-old Rajkanya Baruah is likely to be re-arrested soon after the CMO directed re-investigation in the matter. Dispur Police sumonned Rajkanya Baruah on Monday to appear in the police station. Baruah is presently admitted at GNRC Hospital for medical treatment.

Last Friday, Rajkanya Baruah, a 29-year-old wedding planner and former Miss India finalist, allegedly knocked down eight PWD workers on-duty in the Rukmini Nagar area in Guwahati. One of the workers had his left leg chopped off when Rajkanya's car rushed at him. His right leg has been amputated at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The accident resulted in the worker losing both his legs.
